Jimmie Austin Golf Club at The University of Oklahoma
4 Ransom Drive,
Norman, OK 73019
405-325-6716
Home course of the University of Oklahoma Sooners
Originally designed by architect and native Oklahoman Perry Maxwell in 1951, it was redesigned by Jimmie Austin in 1996. World-renowned course architect Robert Cupp was able to keep the classic elegance of the course Maxwell had envisioned, while upgrading the intensity of the terrain to offer a challenging experience for all golfers.
The rich heritage of the grounds of the Jimmie Austin Golf Club dates back to the early 1940s when the land was home to a U.S. Navy recreational facility. Now more than 80 years later, it is recognized as one of the top collegiate golf courses in the country.
The Coe Training Center has gained a reputation as a model facility. The 7,000-square-foot, indoor-outdoor facility is the home to three hitting bays with a video system. It features an expansive outdoor practice area including two satellite chipping greens, as well as a 12,000-square-foot bent grass chipping area with seven bunkers to cover a myriad of sand and stance possibilities. There is also a bent grass and Bermuda grass putting green.
The course is open to the public.
