Emma Carpenter joins Swing Clinic for the 2024 season to help elevate your game.
A multi-faceted NCAA – Division I athlete, she will complete her time on the women’s golf team at the University of Minnesota this spring.
A graduate of DeKalb High School in Illinois, she did not discover her passion for golf until the age of 12, when her dad came home and told her that he entered her in a drive, chip and putt challenge. After a quick introduction to the game, Emma picked up the basics and won the contest.
Since then, she has developed a deep passion for playing the game, which led her to be the only girl on her high school’s boy’s golf team.
Playing from the same tees as the guys, she became the top player on the team and earned a full ride to Minnesota.
A member of the Golden Gopher’s ladies’ golf team, she has regularly been one of the team’s top players during her tenure.
While at Minnesota, she developed a passion for broadcasting. Emma received her B.A. in Broadcast Journalism and is in the process of earning a Masters of Marketing at Minnesota.
On the broadcast side, she hosts a bi-weekly podcast on the Five Clubs Golf platform, where she discusses the college game. She also is a member of the Gopher Digital Production team.
In 2023, Emma was the recipient of the Lisa Byington Award as the most outstanding female student broadcaster in the Big Ten.
A classically-trained vocalist, she has performed the National Anthem for numerous Gopher sporting events.
